Android 7 Nougat release date: when you'll get the update and new features
Latest update--Android Nougat was Google's big refresh of its phone and tablet operating system in 2016. Android is an OS that's been so thoroughly refined that the company is now more than halfway through the alphabet with names.
It hasn't stopped at Nougat either as there's now the eighth iteration of Google's OS called Android Oreo. That is out now for a select number of devices, so it may be worth checking whether your phone is ready to upgrade to even newer software.
Google released the latest version of Nougat as Android 7.1.2 software in December 2017, and many phones are still being upgraded to it now. Over 26% of active Android devices are already running the software too. There's a good chance your phone already has the latest Android Nougat software update waiting, or it's coming very soon.
Android Nougat release date
Android Nougat is out right now, but when you'll get the upgrade is going to dependent on your device. The release date is rather staggered.
It's came pre-loaded on the Google Pixeland Google Pixel XL and it's available to download on Google-made devices like the Nexus 6P, Nexus 5X, Nexus 6, Nexus 9, Google Pixel C, and the Nexus Player. That said, Android Oreo is also ready for these devices too.
Congratulation-----------------------congratulation-
Downloading Android Nougat
So if you've either had a notification or manually checked and found that Android Nougat is available for your device - congratulations! Now you just need to download and install it.
Simply follow the onscreen prompts to do this, but first check that you are connected to a Wi-Fi network (as the update could wreck havoc with your data allowance), and that you have a decent amount of battery left.
In fact, it would be wise to plug your phone or tablet in while it's updating, as you don't want it to die part way through. You should also choose a time when you don't need urgent access to your device, as you may be unable to use it for a while.
Now you simply need to play the waiting game and before long, your device will be running a new and tasty version of Android.
Android Nougat: What’s New in Android 7.0?
Android OS has developed into quite a mature platform with recent updates. Google has been focusing on increasing the productivity aspect of Android. This emphasis is quite apparent in recently introduced Android 7.0.

Multi-Window Support in Smartphones
Android Nougat adds support for running apps side-by-side on your screen. The multi-window support means you can be more productive with yoursmartphone. Apps adjust themselves as per your device’s orientation.
One stand-out feature that we liked is the change made to Chrome. It now lets you run two browser tabs on the screen at once.
Clear All Background Apps at Once
A much-needed feature has been finally introduced by Google in the Nougat update. You can now clear all background apps at once by tapping on the “Clear All” prompt in the top-right corner. It’s a great way to clear apps from your phone’s RAM.
Customize Quick Settings with 3rd Party Apps
Android Nougat has introduced quick setting tiles for 3rd party apps. Of course, the app makers will have to integrate this feature in their apps. To see all quick setting editing pane, tap on the edit button (it is the small pencil like icon).
App Shortcuts on Long-Press
A cool new feature introduced with the Nougat update is fast access in-app functions. You can now long-press an app icon like the Camera app and start it in a pre-defined mode. For example, long-press on “Settings” brings up battery, data usage and WiFi shortcuts.
